Sunnyside Rhythm Block:
AAPI World Sound
Join us this spring as Sunnyside’s Open Streets becomes a shared cultural block party.
Saturdays, April 18 — May 16, 2026
2:00 PM — 5:00 PM
Sunnyside, Queens (46th St under the Sunnyside Arch)
Sunnyside Rhythm Block (SRB) is a public performance series presented by Korea Art Forum and produced by Gong Collective, spotlighting AAPI world sounds through traditional performance, DJs, and community energy on the shared street.
Across four weekends, SRB will feature weekly cultural highlights pairing a traditional ensemble with DJ sets that bridge heritage and contemporary sound. The project intentionally removes physical and symbolic barriers between performers and audiences. Neighbors, families, and commuters encounter the performances directly in the open street and are encouraged to stay, listen, move, and participate.
